The Podcasts That Keep Me Sane – Part 2

I couldn’t fit all my favourites into one post, so I made another one! We’re still on writing podcasts here (I might have to do another 2 or 3 posts to get to non-writing podcasts).

In no particular order, here we go:

Helping Writers Become Authors

K.M. Weiland is great at breaking down concepts into manageable, teachable, learnable chunks. I’ve done a lot of reading on things like story structure, but it all fits together in my brain much better when I hear her talk about it.

Two Crime Writers and a Microphone

Luca Veste and Steve Cavanagh host this grab bag of writing-related goodies, and I’m so glad that they do. There’s industry news, crazy reviews, interviews, solid book recs, and two (sometimes three, or more) delicious accents in every episode. Not to mention the rapport between Steve and Luca, who often find themselves unable to speak for laughing. I can’t get enough of it. And I’m not even a crime writer!

Kobo Writing Life Podcast

The KWL team share interviews, resources, and industry wisdom about writing and self-publishing. The passion that Chrissy and her co-presenters have for their work comes through in every episode, and it’s clear that they are genuine in wanting authors to succeed.

Stark Reflections on Writing and Publishing

Mark Leslie Lefebvre used to host the KWL podcast, and I was sad when he left it. His voice is both commanding and calming, making it easy to listen to anything he says. So I was thrilled when I found out he’d started another podcast. It’s full of info, and I find myself making frantic notes at my desk while I’m listening.

I think I’m going to call it quits here – four seems to be a good number for this kind of thing. We might see a Part 3 in the near future. Until then, happy listening!
